The Faith Academy of Marble Falls baseball team had several postseason selections for the 2024 season.
Nash Renfro and Cross Sanchez were selected first team all-District 3, Division IV of the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools.
“Cross’ selection was due to mainly his speed in the outfield and running the bases,” head coach Rob Ellis said. “He showed a great deal of improvement.”
Named honorable mention were junior Carter Fromberg and freshmen Wade Dillard and Austin Ellis.
The coach said Fromberg “is a very solid catcher and a good batter,” while Dillard “is a solid defensive player and a good batter in the lineup.”
The younger Ellis was “solid on defense and as a relief pitcher and a batter in the offense.”
Renfro also was selected to the TAPPS first team all-state and academic all-state by the Texas Association of High School Baseball Coaches.
Ellis said Renfro’s selection was to all three lists were because of his stats as a pitcher and hitter.
“It’s a big deal to win all-district,” Rob Ellis said. “I felt like we were represented well.”
He recalled conversations with people who told him the Flames would do well in the private school setting because the competition was easier. At the district meeting, coaches talked about those perceptions.
“The Brazos coach said that we’re regarded as the most competitive district in all private schools,” Rob Ellis said. “It’s very competitive against one another. It was a very competitive district. To have five players on those teams is a good representation.”
